How Maddie fixed her wrist pain in 90 days and hit a 68kg snatch!

When Maddie came to me she was in pain and couldn't snatch heavy.⁠

She hurt herself for in the lead up to a competition and she was devastated.⁠

This was actually the second time she hurt her wrist in the lead up to a competition.

She'd rested and been to see an osteopath who told her to do nothing overhead for 4 weeks...⁠

But as soon as she went back to lifting the pain came back.⁠

And this was the second time she'd tried to rest and then go back to lifting heavy and the pain came back.

She was really frustrated because she felt like the osteopath didn't understand her sport.

And she felt like resting wasn't going to be a long term solution.

So when she found me she felt really relieved.

She felt safe knowing that I lift myself and knew that I wouldn't tell her to stop lifting.⁠

The first phase of the Performance Programme is the assessment.

In the assessment we found that Maddie had less strength on the wrist that was hurting.

So we adjusted her programme so that she could carry on lifting while we worked on strengthening the muscles around the wrist.

After just 4 of weeks she was already snatching 60kg pain free and she felt that her Performance Programme was focussed on longevity rather than quick fixes.⁠

Her wrist now feels stronger and she feels so much more confident lifting heavy again.⁠

The other day she snatched 68kg pain free (just 4kg under her all time personal best)!⁠
